The MG Hector Tomahawk EV Essence 7 Seater is the top variant of the range, priced at ₹23.49 lakh ex-showroom. It is also offered at ₹17.49 lakh under the Battery-as-a-Service programme, with battery rental charged at ₹4.9 per km. Note that this is a special introductory price applicable to limited units only.The 69.2 kWh pack drives a permanent magnet synchronous motor rated at 201.2 bhp and 310 Nm, sending drive to the front wheels. Claimed MIDC range is 517 km and MG quotes 0 to 100 kmph in 8.2 seconds. The battery uses Li-Ion LFP chemistry with CATL cells.Charging runs through a CCS2 port. A 90 kW DC charger takes the pack from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes. A 7.4 kW AC wall charger needs 12.5 hours for a 10 to 100% charge. On this variant the 7.4 kW AC fast charger comes with standard installation, alongside the 3.3 kW portable cable for a 15 A socket.The Essence is the only variant with bidirectional charging. Vehicle-to-Home sends up to 6.6 kVA AC back into a house through a separately sold V2H unit, which MG says will follow at a later date. V2L and V2V are offered at 3 kVA.Over the Exclusive, the Essence adds the 39.6 cm Grand View touch display, a 10-speaker Infinity system with subwoofer and amplifier, 256-colour ambient and roof lighting, a driver seat with memory and auto retract, front parking sensors, an auto dimming IRVM, a rear window sunshade, floating light turn indicators and red brake callipers.Level 2 ADAS is exclusive to the Essence and runs 11 functions. Adaptive cruise control with bend cruise assistance, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, AEB with pedestrian detection, intelligent hydraulic braking assistance and intelligent headlamp control.Safety covers 6 airbags, ESP with traction control, hill hold, ABS with EBD, brake assist, all four disc brakes, an electric parking brake with auto hold, a direct TPMS, front and rear parking sensors and the 360 degree HD camera with transparent chassis and wheel view.Seven-seat layout gives 192 litres of boot space with all rows up, rising to 528 litres with the third row folded. Wheels are R18 dual-tone precision cut Rotor alloys on 225/55 R18 tyres.The high voltage battery carries a lifetime warranty for the first owner on private registration, becoming 8 years or 1,60,000 km on ownership change or commercial registration. Vehicle warranty is 3 years with unlimited kilometres, alongside 3 years of roadside assistance and two labour-free services.
