The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is JSW MG Motor’s electric reworking of the Hector, and the first car sold in India to offer Vehicle-to-Home charging. It is priced from ₹19.49 lakh to ₹23.49 lakh ex-showroom. Note that these are special introductory prices applicable to limited units only, so expect them to move once the initial allocation is taken.Battery-as-a-Service brings the entry price down to ₹13.99 lakh, with battery rental charged at ₹4.9 per km. Under BaaS the four variants run from ₹13.99 lakh to ₹17.49 lakh.A single 69.2 kWh pack powers a permanent magnet synchronous motor rated at 201.2 bhp and 310 Nm, driving the front wheels. The battery uses Li-Ion LFP chemistry with CATL cells. Claimed MIDC range is 517 km, and MG quotes 0 to 100 kmph in 8.2 seconds. The pack sits under a 230 mm ground clearance and has been through 2,000 bench tests and 490 vehicle validations.Charging runs through a CCS2 port. A 90 kW DC charger takes the pack from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes. A 7.4 kW AC wall charger needs 12.5 hours for a 10 to 100% charge. A 3.3 kW portable cable for a 15 A socket is standard on every variant. The 7.4 kW wall box with standard installation is fitted only to the Essence and is sold separately on the Excite and Exclusive.The Tomahawk is the first vehicle in India with Vehicle-to-Home. It can feed 6.6 kVA AC back into a house through a separately sold V2H unit, enough to run lights, fans and everyday appliances. V2L and V2V are also offered at 3 kVA. All three are exclusive to the Essence.The cabin is led by a 39.6 cm Grand View touchscreen on the Essence, with a 32.5 cm unit on the Excite and Exclusive. Both pair with a 22.3 cm multi information display. MG claims an India first with Gen AI powered karaoke through the Starmaanch app, carrying over 8,000 tracks. There are 80 plus connected car features, 30 plus Hinglish voice commands, voice control in six languages and i-Swipe gesture control for climate and audio.Six cabin modes are offered. Nap Mode adjusts the HVAC for rest and sets a wake alarm, Camp Mode configures the cabin for time outdoors, Energise Mode cools the cabin quickly, Valet Mode locks personal data behind a PIN, Quiet Mode mutes selected speakers and Pro Pet Mode holds a set temperature with a message on the screen. Camp Mode runs without V2L on the Excite and Exclusive.Interiors use the Desert Squadron theme in Almond Brown and Carbon Black. The Essence adds a dual pane cockpit sunroof, front ventilated seats, a 10-speaker Infinity system with subwoofer and amplifier, 256-colour ambient lighting, a 50W cooled wireless charger, a powered tailgate, a driver seat with memory and auto retract, an auto dimming IRVM and a rear window sunshade.Safety covers 6 airbags on every variant, ESP, traction control, hill hold, ABS with EBD, brake assist, all-wheel disc brakes, an electric parking brake with auto hold and a direct TPMS. Rear parking sensors and a reverse camera are standard. The Exclusive adds the 360 degree HD camera with transparent chassis and wheel view, and the Essence adds front parking sensors.Level 2 ADAS is exclusive to the Essence and runs 11 functions. That covers adaptive cruise control with bend cruise assistance, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and prevention, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent hydraulic braking assistance and intelligent headlamp control.The Tomahawk measures 4,745 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,770 mm tall on a 2,810 mm wheelbase. The 7-seater carries 192 litres of boot space with all rows up, rising to 528 litres with the third row folded. The 5-seater carries 610 litres, and 1,053 litres with the second row folded. Suspension is a MacPherson strut at the front and a multi-link independent setup at the rear, on 225/55 R18 tyres with a T145/70 R17 spare.Six colours are offered. Khaki Green, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Celadon Blue, Pearl White and Shadow Gold, with dual-tone Starry Black roof options on Shadow Gold and Khaki Green.MG’s e-Shield package covers a lifetime warranty on the high voltage battery for the first private owner, dropping to 8 years or 160,000 km on ownership change or commercial registration. Vehicle warranty is 3 years with unlimited kilometres, alongside 3 years of roadside assistance and two labour-free services.
