Windsor

Essence Pro was the top variant with 1,865 units, 59.6% of Windsor registrations. It was followed by Essence with 511 units (16.3%), Exclusive with 274 units (8.8%), Exclusive Pro with 220 units (7%) and Excite with 83 units (2.7%).

By battery, the 52.9 kWh pack accounted for 2,085 units (66.7%) and the 38 kWh pack for 1,042 units (33.3%).
Windsor’s registrations were 12.2% lower than the 3,563 units in September and 21.2% lower than the 3,970 units in October 2025. Its sales have been on a downtrend since July 2026, when it registered 4,048 units.
Its rank has fallen too. After being first in June, Windsor was second in July, third in August and fourth in both September and October. The gap with third-placed Nexon EV has widened to 435 units from 55 units in September. Even so, Windsor remains the best-selling EV of 2026 so far with 37,333 units.
Tomahawk

In its first full month on sale, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV registered 1,545 units, up from 443 units in September, when its registrations began. That is 25.9% of MG’s registrations. Across the overall 4W EV market, its share was 4.2%, which put it ninth in October.
The Tomahawk EV is offered with a single 69.2 kWh battery pack. Essence 7 Seater was the top variant with 1,000 units (64.7%), followed by Essence 5 Seater with 359 units (23.2%), Exclusive 7 Seater with 181 units (11.7%) and Excite 7 Seater with 5 units (0.3%). The 7-seater variants together made up 1,186 units (76.8%).
In or recent poll on social media platform X, public expected the Tomahawk EV to rank above XEV 9S, XEV 9e, Harrier EV and Sierra EV. It has fallen below those expectations, so much so that it also trailed the Mahindra BE 6.
JSW MG Motor has also increased the ex-showroom prices of all Tomahawk EV variants by ₹75,000, as exclusively reported by ElecTree. This has caused an upset among those who had booked the car and were awaiting delivery, as they will now have to pay more.
Comet EV
The Comet EV is India’s only 2 door EV and is also the cheapest EV in the country at the moment. It registered 801 units in October 2026, 13.4% of MG’s volume and 2.2% of all 4W EV registrations. This is 9.3% lower than the 883 units in September and 15.7% lower than the 950 units in October 2025.
Excite was the top variant with 363 units (45.3%), followed by Exclusive with 316 units (39.5%) and Executive with 120 units (15%). One unit each was of the older Play and Plush variants, which are possibly resales.
ZS EV
The ZS EV is the oldest nameplate in MG’s lineup, and there are dealership level rumors that it will soon be discontinued. It registered 266 units in October 2026, contributing 4.5% to MG’s registrations, and its share in the overall 4W EV market was 0.7%. This is 36.2% lower than the 417 units in September and 3.3% lower than the 275 units in October 2025.
The ZS EV comes with a single 50.3 kWh battery pack. Essence was the top variant with 143 units (53.8%), followed by Exclusive Plus with 56 units (21.1%), Excite Pro with 38 units (14.3%) and Executive with 29 units (10.9%).
MG Select
MG Select is JSW MG Motor’s premium sales channel, through which the M9 and Cyberster are sold.
The MG M9 electric MPV registered 201 units, down 1.5% from 204 units in September but more than double the 97 units in October 2025 (107.2% higher). It has a 90 kWh battery pack and has registered 2,307 units so far this year.
The Cyberster, MG’s electric sports car, registered 25 units, up from 11 units in September (127.3%), but 63.2% lower than the 68 units in October 2025. It has a 77 kWh battery pack, and its registrations this year stand at 308 units.
Together, the two cars made up 3.8% of MG’s registrations in October.
ElecTree’s Take
MG had long relied on Windsor’s success, but it has now been overtaken by rivals. The launch of the Tomahawk EV had raised expectations, but it is still lagging behind the competition, with delayed deliveries and now increased prices.
MG had also announced that the PHEV version of the Tomahawk would be delivered in November, but that too seems to be delayed. This leads to more questions on whether the OEM is facing any supply side constraints.
