Tesla India Crosses 100 Monthly Sales for the First Time, Retails 110 Units in July

Tesla India recorded its first triple-digit sales month in July 2026, with 110 units retailed, according to Vahan registration data. It's a milestone for a brand that entered the country under a year ago, and one that arrives after a run of sales in the 30s and 50s for most of the first half of the year.

The monthly trail through 2026 tells the story of a slow build: 36 units in January, 28 in February, 53 in March, 43 in April, 33 in May, and 38 in June, before July's jump to 110. That takes cumulative sales for the year so far to 341 units.

The climb to triple digits comes against the backdrop of a reshuffled Model Y lineup. In April, Tesla introduced the Model Y L — a six-seat, long-wheelbase variant — priced at ₹61.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which ElecTree covered at launch. The following month, Tesla revised the price of the entry-level Standard Range variant down to ₹50.89 lakh from ₹59.89 lakh, and discontinued the Long Range variant altogether. Tesla sells in India through the CBU import route, which typically carries a one-to-two month lag between an order being placed and the vehicle being delivered.

Tesla now operates in five Indian cities — Gurugram, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad — with five Supercharger locations currently live across the country.

Individual model-wise sales figures for July are yet to be released and will follow later this month.
