Mahindra EV Sales Breakup August 2026

Mahindra recorded 6,608 electric SUV registrations in August 2026, with the XEV 9S continuing to do most of the heavy lifting for the brand. The seven-seater electric SUV alone contributed more than half of Mahindra's monthly EV volume, while the XEV 9e and BE 6 followed at a considerable distance.

Overall volumes were down 18.4% from July, when Mahindra recorded 8,097 EV registrations. The decline was spread across the lineup, although the XEV 9S saw a relatively modest correction compared with the sharper drops recorded by the BE 6, XUV 3XO EV and XUV400.

XEV 9S Leads Mahindra's EV Lineup

The XEV 9S remained Mahindra's strongest electric model in August with 3,743 units. This was 7.4% lower than the 4,044 units recorded in July, but the model still accounted for 56.6% of Mahindra's total EV volume.

The variant mix shows that buyers were clearly leaning towards the higher-volume seven-seater configurations. Pack Two Above 7 Seater was the best-selling version with 1,276 units, followed by Pack Three Above 7 Seater at 989 units and Pack Three 7 Seater at 817 units.

Together, these three variants contributed more than 80% of XEV 9S registrations. The six-seater and other configurations, meanwhile, remained marginal contributors.

For Mahindra, the XEV 9S is therefore doing more than simply leading the lineup. Its volume gives the company a strong base in the electric SUV segment, even as overall registrations softened in August.

XEV 9e Holds Second Position

The XEV 9e finished August with 1,675 units, down 16.5% from the 2,007 units recorded in July. It accounted for around a quarter of Mahindra's total EV registrations.

Pack Three was the most popular XEV 9e configuration with 670 units, while the Pack Three Cineluxe followed closely at 568 units. Pack Two added another 370 units.

These three variants alone made up 96% of the XEV 9e's August volume. The relatively small contribution from the lower-volume variants suggests that demand remains concentrated around a few configurations rather than being evenly spread across the range.

The XEV 9e may not match the XEV 9S for volume, but together the two XEV models accounted for more than 80% of Mahindra's EV registrations in August.

BE 6 Sees a Sharper Drop

The BE 6 recorded 976 units in August, down 29.9% from July's 1,393 units. Its contribution to Mahindra's overall EV volume fell to 14.8%.

Pack Three was comfortably ahead with 493 units, accounting for just over half of the BE 6's August volume. Pack Two followed with 242 units, while Pack One recorded 121 units.

The top three variants together contributed nearly 88% of BE 6 registrations. This means that, much like the XEV models, the BE 6's volume is concentrated around a relatively small part of its range.

The bigger story, however, is the monthly decline. At nearly 30%, the BE 6 saw a considerably sharper correction than the XEV 9S and XEV 9e.

XUV 3XO EV Drops Sharply

The XUV 3XO EV recorded 165 units in August, compared with 551 units in July. That represents a 70.1% month-on-month decline, making it the sharpest fall among Mahindra's electric models.

The AX7L FH contributed 109 units, while the AX5 FH accounted for the remaining 56 units.

The model's contribution to Mahindra's total EV registrations was only 2.5% in August. Its steep monthly decline also means that the XUV 3XO EV currently has a limited impact on the company's overall electric volumes compared with the XEV 9S and XEV 9e.

XUV400 Remains a Small Contributor

The XUV400 registered 49 units in August, down from 102 units in July. This translates to a 52% monthly decline.

With 49 units, the XUV400 contributed less than 1% of Mahindra's total EV registrations for the month.

Its August numbers underline how much Mahindra's EV volume has moved towards its newer electric SUV portfolio, particularly the XEV 9S, XEV 9e and BE 6.

XEV Models Now Drive Mahindra's EV Volumes

Mahindra's August numbers show a clear concentration around its newer electric SUVs. The XEV 9S alone contributed 3,743 units, while the XEV 9e added another 1,675. Together, the two models accounted for 5,418 registrations, or nearly 82% of Mahindra's total EV volume.

The BE 6 remained the third-largest contributor, but its 29.9% monthly decline was considerably steeper than that of the XEV 9S. At the other end of the lineup, the XUV 3XO EV and XUV400 together contributed just 214 units.

Mahindra's total EV registrations may have fallen in August, but the model breakup is perhaps more telling. The company's electric portfolio is increasingly being carried by the newer XEV models, with the XEV 9S emerging as the clear volume anchor.
