Mahindra BE 6 vs BE 6 SPORTEQ: What You Gain, What You Lose

Mahindra has restructured the BE 6 range with the introduction of the BE 6 SPORTEQ. The new lineup replaces the earlier Pack-based naming system with simpler numerical variants—One, Two, Three, Three+ and Four. Read the launch details here and variant details here

The change goes beyond variant names. Mahindra has redistributed several features across the range, introduced a new 70 kWh battery option, and removed some equipment from the closest equivalent variants.

Here is how the old and new lineups compare.

Old vs New Variant Mapping

The closest equivalent variants are:

BE 6 Pack One → BE 6 SPORTEQ One

BE 6 Pack One Above → BE 6 SPORTEQ Two

BE 6 Pack Two → BE 6 SPORTEQ Three

BE 6 Pack Three Select → BE 6 SPORTEQ Three+

BE 6 Pack Three → BE 6 SPORTEQ Four

These are feature-based comparisons rather than an official mapping published by Mahindra.

Pack One vs SPORTEQ One

BE 6 Pack One was priced at ₹18.90 lakh, while BE 6 SPORTEQ One costs ₹19.45 lakh. Both are available with the 59 kWh battery.

There are no major equipment upgrades, although SPORTEQ One introduces additional TEQ software features, including Custom Drive Mode, Tribe Drive and Drift Mode. However, SPORTEQ One gets one rear 65W Type-C charging port instead of the two offered in Pack One.

This means the entry price increases by ₹55,000 without a substantial equipment upgrade.

Pack One Above vs SPORTEQ Two

Pack One Above was priced at ₹20.50 lakh. Its closest SPORTEQ equivalent, Two, costs ₹20.95 lakh. Both use the 59 kWh battery.

SPORTEQ Two receives the most substantial technology upgrade among the lower variants. Added features include:

• Triple-screen setup
• 540-degree camera
• Power-folding ORVMs
• Drive-video recording (Manual)
• Leatherette seats
• Front parking sensors
• 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos
• Leatherette steering wheel and e-shifter
• NFC-compatible digital key and card

However, SPORTEQ Two also loses three features offered in Pack One Above: 

• Panoramic fixed-glass roof
• One rear 65W Type-C port
• Acoustic laminated door glass.

For an additional ₹45,000, buyers receive considerably more cabin technology, cameras and premium equipment, but sacrifice the panoramic roof.

Pack Two vs SPORTEQ Three

Pack Two was offered with two battery options. The 59 kWh version cost ₹21.90 lakh, while the 79 kWh version cost ₹23.50 lakh.

SPORTEQ Three costs ₹21.95 lakh with the 59 kWh battery and ₹22.95 lakh with the new 70 kWh battery.

The 59 kWh version is therefore only ₹5,000 more expensive than Pack Two. The 70 kWh SPORTEQ Three is ₹55,000 cheaper than the former 79 kWh Pack Two, but it also gives up 9 kWh of battery capacity and Level 2 ADAS.

Feature additions include:

• Six-way powered driver’s seat with memory
• Leatherette seats
• Ventilated front seats
• Leatherette steering wheel and e-shifter

The trade-off is significant: SPORTEQ Three loses 

• Level 2 ADAS 
• Parcel shelf

SPORTEQ Three offers a more premium cabin and additional convenience features, but buyers prioritising driver-assistance technology should note that Level 2 ADAS now begins with Three+.

Pack Three Select vs SPORTEQ Three+

Pack Three Select was priced at ₹24.50 lakh and offered only with the 59 kWh battery.

SPORTEQ Three+ costs ₹23.95 lakh with the 70 kWh battery and ₹24.95 lakh with the 79 kWh battery. The new variant therefore provides substantially larger battery options at a price close to the earlier 59 kWh model.

It also adds:

• Triple-screen setup
• Personalised tailgate messaging and animations
• Night Trail carpet lamps

However, SPORTEQ Three+ loses several important features previously offered in Pack Three Select:

• Intelligent adaptive suspension
• Driver-knee airbag
• Full automatic parking
• Secure 360 live view and recording

The battery upgrade makes Three+ attractive from a range and value perspective, but the equipment reshuffle is substantial. Buyers gain more battery capacity and new display technology while losing adaptive suspension, knee Airbag, auto park, and Secure 360

Pack Three vs SPORTEQ Four

At the top of the range, Pack Three was priced at ₹26.90 lakh and SPORTEQ Four costs ₹26.95 lakh. Both use the 79 kWh battery.

The price difference is only ₹5,000, and there are no major feature removals.

SPORTEQ Four gets the triple-screen setup, while Secure 360 is upgraded with audio relay and intrusion alerts. This makes Four the most direct replacement in the new lineup, with largely comparable equipment and a modest technology upgrade.

Which SPORTEQ Variant Offers the Biggest Upgrade?

SPORTEQ Two delivers the clearest equipment improvement. For ₹45,000 more than Pack One Above, it adds triple screens, a 540-degree camera, premium audio, leatherette upholstery, front parking sensors and several convenience features.

SPORTEQ Three also gains a considerably more premium cabin, but the removal of Level 2 ADAS will be a compromise for some.

Three+ presents a different value proposition. It offers larger batteries at prices close to Pack Three Select, but removes adaptive suspension, the knee airbag, automatic parking and Secure 360.

At the top, SPORTEQ Four offers the smoothest transition from the old lineup. Its price, battery and overall equipment remain close to Pack Three, with additional display and Secure 360 functionality.

Key point to note: All variants except FE Four don't get capacitive touch buttons.

Conclusion

The BE 6 SPORTEQ lineup is not simply a renamed version of the original BE 6 range. Mahindra has redistributed features, introduced a 70 kWh battery and shifted some advanced equipment to higher variants.

Lower and mid-range SPORTEQ variants receive more visible cabin technology, including triple screens, better cameras, powered seats and digital-key functionality. However, some less visible—but valuable—features such as ADAS, adaptive suspension, automatic parking and Secure 360 have moved up the range or disappeared from the closest equivalent variant.
