VinFast Sold 4,756 Units in India in H1 2026, Led by VF7
VinFast sells 3 models in India; VF6, VF7 and MPV 7. The Vietnamese manufacturer is trying to make strides by competing with established players. We take a look at their CY H1'26 retail sales performance across models and trims.
VinFast's rapid India expansion — spanning its $2 billion Thoothukudi manufacturing complex, a growing dealer network, and an aggressive multi-model product roadmap — was covered in detail in ElecTree's earlier deep dive. Six months into 2026, Vahan registration (new sales only) data shows how that roadmap has translated into actual retail numbers.
VinFast sold 4,756 new vehicles in India across January to June 2026, split across 3 models: compact SUV VF6, mid size SUV VF7 and 7 seater MPV7. This amounts to ~3.1% of overall 4 wheeler EV sales in the same period.
VinFast VF7

VF7 leads VinFast's portfolio with 55.4% (2,633 units). Sales are spread across all five trims, with no single variant crossing 30% share.
| Trim | Units | Share of VF7 |
|---|---|---|
| Wind Infinity | 740 | 28.1% |
| Wind | 676 | 25.7% |
| Sky Infinity | 597 | 22.7% |
| Earth | 326 | 12.4% |
| Sky | 294 | 11.2% |
The mid trims Wind Infinity and Wind are leading with 53.8%; 28.1% (740 units) and 25.7% (676 units) respectively. The top trim Sky infinity which is offered in all wheel drive and a fixed glass-roof comes third with 22.7% (597 units). The base trim Earth recorded 12.4% (326 units) sales. Their Skytrim recorded the least sales with 11.2% (294 units).
VinFast VF6

VF6 is close behind with 42.3% (2,011 units) of total sales. Unlike the VF7, buyers here are concentrated on just two trims.
| Trim | Units | Share of VF6 |
|---|---|---|
| Wind | 948 | 47.1% |
| Wind Infinity | 833 | 41.4% |
| Earth | 230 | 11.4% |
Wind leads with 47.1% (948 units), followed closely by Wind Infinity at 41.4% (833 units). Together, the two account for 88.5% of all VF6 sales. The base trim Earth trails well behind with 11.4% (230 units).
VinFast MPV7

The MPV7 is VinFast's newest addition, launched on 15 April 2026, and accounts for the remaining 2.4% (112 units) of H1 sales. Since it was only on sale for about two and a half months of the six-month period, this is a partial-period number rather than a full H1 figure. It is offered in a single variant, so there's no trim-wise split to report.
