Suzuki eVitara gets 4-star rating in EURO NCAP

EURONCAP today released the crash test ratings of the Suzuki eVitara. EURO NCAP is currently the world's most stringent crash test program.

Adult Occupant Protection

The car scored 31 out of 40, which is 77%. The body shell of the car is rated stable. 

Frontal impact

The car lost the most points in the Frontal Impact 

1. Against a deformable barrier, Chest Protection is Marginal for the driver. 
2. Against a rigid barrier, Chest Protection is Weak for the Driver, and Head and Chest Protection are marginal for the rear passenger.

Lateral Impact

Lateral impact tests fared much better 

1. Side pole and Side mobile barrier test showing good protection
2. The far side excursion shows marginal protection
3. Occupant Interaction protection is not present

Rear Impact

Almost full marks here. No call-outs.

Child Occupant Protection

The car scored 42 out of 49, which is 85%. Protection for the children is good.

Crash Test performance based on 6 & 10 year old children

1. The car scores 100% with good protection for both children

Safety features

1. The only place it lost points was in the child protection space. See the table below for details

CRS Installation Check

1. 100% points here with CRS getting installed properly with ISOFix and Seatbelt.
