Mahindra Offers Full Buyback to First 999 BE 6 Batman Edition Owners After Second Batch Sells Out in 7 Minutes
Mahindra is giving original BE 6 Batman Edition buyers a full buyback option after launching another 999 units on March 10, 2026. Know what this means for early owners and new buyers.
Mahindra has surprised the EV community with a generous gesture towards the original buyers of its ultra-limited BE 6 Batman Edition. In an official communication on March 18, 2026, the company is offering a complete buyback option for their vehicles to the founding 999 customers. This move comes shortly after Mahindra opened bookings for a fresh batch of another 999 units on March 10, 2026.
Official Mahindra Statement
Many early owners felt the exclusivity they paid a premium for was diluted when the company decided to produce more Batman Editions in 2026. To address this concern directly, Mahindra is now giving the first batch owners a 30-day window to opt for a full buyback* through their dealers. The offer is specifically extended to these 999 founding owners as a mark of respect for their early belief and passion.
The letter reads: “In view of this, we would like to offer an option to our founding owners to avail a full buyback of their vehicle.” It also reassures them that they will “always remain the founding chapter of this story” with individually numbered badges and the special launch price advantage.
Just days earlier, on March 10, 2026, Mahindra opened the booking window for the 2026 lot of the BE 6 Batman Edition. As expected, the entire second batch of 999 units was snapped up in just seven minutes. Priced at ₹28.49 lakh (ex-showroom), ₹70,000 higher than the first batch, the new units will start deliveries from April 2026. Priority was given to referrals from the original owners.
The Batman Edition, born out of Mahindra’s collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, features striking Dark Knight-inspired design elements, satin black finish, and unique badging. It quickly became one of the most talked-about limited-run electric SUVs in India when the first lot sold out in minutes back in 2025.
Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition
This entire episode shows how passionately Indian buyers are responding to special editions. While some original owners are unhappy about the repeat production, Mahindra’s buyback offer attempts to balance brand loyalty with strong ongoing demand.
For the founding owners, it’s now a clear choice: keep their rare numbered Batman Edition or hand it back and move on. For new enthusiasts who missed the first window, the second batch is already gone, but Mahindra has hinted at exploring more such special expressions in 2027.
