Vietnamese EV maker VinFast concluded its first full quarter in the Indian market (Oct–Dec 2025) with a solid 1,041 four-wheeler units registered, establishing early momentum with its premium compact SUVs VF6 and VF7.
The larger VF7 led the charge with 565 units, accounting for 54% of total sales, while the more compact VF6 contributed 476 units. Both models received strong initial response, particularly for their high-spec Infinity trims featuring panoramic glass roofs, Level-2 ADAS, and premium interiors.
VF7: Premium Powerhouse Takes the Lead
Priced from ₹20.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the VF7 offered buyers a choice between 59.6 kWh and 70 kWh battery packs, delivering up to 532 km ARAI range. The 70 kWh variants dominated sales (492 units across trims), reflecting strong preference for longer range.
The Infinity trims—featuring dual-motor AWD, 348 bhp, head-up display, and panoramic sunroof—were overwhelmingly preferred, highlighting Indian buyers' appetite for feature-rich premium EVs.
VF6: Compact & Stylish Performer
Starting at ₹16.49 lakh, the VF6 appealed to urban customers with its 59.6 kWh battery (up to 468 km ARAI range) and single-motor FWD setup. The Wind Infinity trim led with 210 units, followed by Wind (171) and Earth (95).
Total VF6 sales reached 476 units, showing steady demand for a compact, value-oriented premium electric SUV.
Overall Performance & Takeaways
Grand total for 2025 (Oct–Dec): 1,041 units
59.6 kWh battery: 549 units
70 kWh battery: 492 units
Both models benefit from VinFast’s 800V architecture for ultra-fast charging (10-80% in ~24 minutes), V2L capability, and a 10-year/200,000 km battery warranty, contributing to early brand acceptance.
As VinFast expands its dealership network and charging infrastructure in 2026, these initial numbers signal a promising start in a highly competitive segment.
