Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: Affordable Electric Crossover Eyed for April 2026 Launch
Mahindra's XUV 3XO EV, launching April 2026, skips INGLO platform & uses XUV400's NMC battery setup. Entry price around ₹14 lakh positions it against Tata Nexon EV—compact electric SUV with familiar styling.
Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited is gearing up to expand its EV portfolio with the XUV 3XO EV, an electrified version of its popular sub-4m crossover, slated for an April 2026 debut. Unlike larger siblings on the INGLO platform, the 3XO EV will stick to the existing XUV400 architecture, adapted for battery integration to keep costs in check and target budget-conscious buyers.
Expected to start at ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom), the model aims to rivals like the Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor, filling a gap in Mahindra's lineup below the XUV400. It borrows the XUV400's 39.4 kWh NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery pack, promising around 450 km ARAI range and DC fast-charging support (10-80% in ~50 minutes at 50 kW). Single-motor FWD setup delivers ~148 bhp and 310 Nm, with drive modes for city efficiency.
The decision to forgo INGLO—Mahindra's advanced EV skateboard for models like the XEV 9e and BE 6—prioritizes affordability and quicker rollout, leveraging existing production lines at Chakan. Features may mirror the ICE 3XO: 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, six airbags, and Level-2 ADAS in higher trims.
With India's sub-4m EV segment booming, the 3XO EV could capture 10-15% market share by 2027, backed by FAME-III subsidies. Bookings to open soon; full specs and pricing to follow.
