Skoda has officially unveiled the Peaq, its new flagship electric SUV. As the largest and most premium model in the brand’s current lineup, the Peaq is the production version of the Vision 7S concept and represents Skoda’s boldest move yet into the electric flagship segment.

Designed as a proper 7-seater electric SUV, it blends the brand’s “Modern Solid” design language with generous space, strong range, and premium comfort, making it well-suited for Indian families and long-distance travel.

Powertrain and Range

The Peaq is available in three variants - 60, 90, and 90x, each tailored to different priorities in terms of range, performance, and driving dynamics.

The entry-level Peaq 60 is equipped with a 63 kWh battery pack and a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 204 hp. It offers a claimed range of up to 459 km (WLTP) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.

The mid-spec Peaq 90 steps up with a larger 91 kWh battery, delivering a claimed WLTP range of up to 647 km, the highest in the lineup. It also features a more powerful rear-wheel-drive motor producing 286 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.1 seconds.

At the top is the Peaq 90x, which uses the same 91 kWh battery but adds a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. It produces 299 hp and claims a range of 613 km, while sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds.

Charging performance is competitive across the board. The larger 91 kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 28 minutes using a 199 kW DC fast charger, while the 63 kWh unit takes approximately 27 minutes on a 160 kW charger. All variants also support bidirectional charging, allowing the vehicle to supply power to external devices or even the grid.

The stretched silhouette and flush door handles give the Peaq a sleek yet substantial and commanding presence.

Bold Modern Design

The Peaq has a bold, clean, and modern design. It features an illuminated Tech-Deck front face, vertical LED elements, and distinctive T-shaped Matrix LED headlamps. With its aerodynamic styling, flush door handles, and sleek lines, the nearly five-metre-long SUV looks substantial on the road while maintaining an approachable and contemporary character.

Spacious and Versatile Cabin

The Peaq is Skoda’s largest vehicle yet and is available in both five-seater and seven-seater versions. It offers generous space for passengers and uses good-quality sustainable materials inside. The five-seater model provides up to 935 litres of boot space, the biggest in Skoda’s current range. Even with the third row in place, you still get a useful 299 litres of luggage space.

The dashboard is clean and modern, with a large 13.6-inch touchscreen in the centre and a 10-inch digital display in front of the driver. Skoda has kept some physical buttons for important functions. Other notable comfort features include an optional Relax Package with massage seats and leg rests, a large panoramic sunroof, and a premium Sonos sound system.

Advanced Technology and Safety

The Peaq brings several new technologies to Skoda for the first time. These include a digital key that can be used through a smartphone or smartwatch, an optional augmented reality head-up display, and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. It also comes with up to 10 airbags and a comprehensive set of safety features.

India Perspective

Skoda India has confirmed that the Peaq is being actively considered for the Indian market. With its seven-seater layout, strong range, and focus on family comfort, the SUV could be a good fit for Indian buyers who want a spacious and practical premium electric vehicle. If launched here, it is likely to come as a fully imported CBU model and will sit in the upper premium segment.

Final Thoughts

The Skoda Peaq is an important new model for the brand as it steps into the flagship electric SUV segment. It offers excellent space, good range, modern technology, and strong comfort features. For Indian buyers, the Peaq could be a fresh and practical electric option in the premium segment, especially for those looking for a big, comfortable family SUV.
