Tata Launches Curvv.ev SeriesX: 45 kWh Discontinued
Tata has simplified the Curvv.ev lineup with the new SeriesX. Two variants, 55 kWh only, starting at ₹16.99 lakh. The 45 kWh pack is discontinued.
Tata Motors, today through social media, announced that they have launched the Curvv.ev SeriesX, simplifying its lineup to two variants — both with the 55 kWh battery pack. The 45 kWh variants have been discontinued. Prices start at ₹16.99 lakh ex-showroom.
The Lineup
| Variant | Price (Ex-showroom) |
|---|---|
| Accomplished X 55 | ₹16.99 lakh |
| Empowered X 55 | ₹19.19 lakh |
| Empowered X 55 Dark | ₹19.49 lakh |
The SeriesX is not a facelift or a technology upgrade. These are rebranded versions of previous variants, now offered with a price correction. Discounts of up to ₹3 lakh were being offered on the previous lineup — the new prices are broadly in line with what buyers were actually paying.
By dropping the 45 kWh variants, Tata has also cleaned up its own portfolio. The Nexon EV now occupies it's own space in terms of battery capacity without any internal competition from Curvv. It is a sensible segmentation decision.
Keeping just two main variants and a darker color option also makes the buying decision simpler for customers. No more navigating a long variant list.
What Each Variant Offers

The Accomplished X 55 at ₹16.99 lakh comes with R-Comfort leatherette seats with passive ventilation, a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, a 360° 3D surround view camera system with blind spot monitoring, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Empowered X 55 at ₹19.19 lakh adds ADAS Level 2, a powered tailgate with gesture activation, the Arcade.ev app suite, and upgrades the seat ventilation to active. The Dark Edition at ₹19.49 lakh adds the dark aesthetic treatment.
Both variants come with Lifetime (15 Years) battery warranty* and an ARAI-certified range of 502 km.
How It Compares
The new SeriesX Curvv variants will compete with the likes of Nexon EV 45, VinFast VF 6 and MG Windsor Pro. An important point to note — Curvv offers radar based L2 ADAS which is better than the camera based ADAS being offered by other vehicles in this price segment. It also undercuts its previous competitor the Hyundai Creta Electric thus showcasing itself as more value-for-money option.
The Bigger Picture
The Curvv.ev sold 5,670 units across all of 2025 in India, as per official Vahan and Telangana data. That is roughly 470 units a month — a modest number for a car in this segment. With a simpler lineup and prices now formally corrected, Tata is clearly betting that the barriers to purchase were price and complexity rather than product.Â
*Note that like all Tata EVs with lifetime battery warranty, the iRA subscription must remain active to retain warranty continuity. We covered this in detail in our connected car app article.Â
