DTCP Haryana says "Electric charging spots may be provided in basement and/or stilt floors"
DTCP Haryana has released draft building code amendments confirming EV chargers are allowed in basements and stilts, subject to fire safety norms. Read the details.
Yesterday, we had reported how the fire department itself was saying that the fire NOC cannot be rejected due to the EV chargers - Read the details here
Thanks to the buzz created on social media by “gaadiwaadi.com” and the EV community, the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) Haryana, has come out with draft building code amendments for EV charging. The notice is available on the government website
The suggestion for the amendment can be submitted to tcpharyana7@gmail.com and atp.hqpriyas.tcp@gmail.com.

We observed a key pointing in this notice. The draft amendment states, “The electric charging spots (ECS) may be provided in basement and/or stilt floors subject to adherence to suitable fire safety norms”. This clearly shows that the DTCP also doesn't have an issue with chargers in the basement as long as they are adhering to fire safety norms
As we had mentioned yesterday, we have already raised an RTI for guidelines regarding EV Charger Installation and getting fire NOC, which have not been provided by the government yet. Till then, our request to residents and RWAs is that chargers should not be removed till the time proper fire safety guidelines are provided by the government
